New Communication Systems Have Been Delivered to the Armed Forces

On the eve of the Motherland Defenders’ Day in the Belarusian Armed Forces, a solemn ceremony of handing over modern digital tools and communication systems, produced by SAMI companies, to the troops and military units of the Belarusian Army was held in the 86th signals communications brigade. Among the equipment first put into service and delivered to the troops were the R-186 and R-186D combined radio stations and the P-240MB communications vehicle developed at AGAT – Control Systems JSC – Managing Company of Geoinformation Control Systems Holding.

“The new samples of modern communications equipment are not the first ones to be handed over”, said the first deputy of the Chief of the General Staff Igor Korol. “This is just one of the stages of the planned rearmament of our army. The achieved power of our Armed Forces allows us to protect our country from any foreign military incursions. The new equipment will be fully used during the Zapad-2021 Belarus-Russia joint strategic exercise, which will become the pinnacle of our army’s training year.

Profound scientific research resulted in the development of modern communication means and complexes. Belarusian defence enterprises mastered production of the latest products in the short term. Domestic communications are as good as foreign analogues and even outclass them on a number of indicators. They provide automated, uninterrupted, sustainable and covert data communications, using a wide range of communication channels.

“The Belarusian Armed Forces have always been and remain in the modern development trend of armament, military and special equipment”, said a reserve Maj. Gen. Oleg Belokonev, the Chairman of the Permanent Commission for National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. “Twenty years ago we could only dream of the samples which have become reality today. And I am proud that our army meets the requirements of the developing geopolitical situation.”

The main peculiarity of the range of handed over communication systems is the focus on the tactical level of command. For the first time, commanders of separate battalions, the main striking force of the army, have acquired satellite communications. Military experts are convinced that this will make it possible to realise the guiding principle of military command – spoiling pre-emptive readiness of the communications system in relation to the needs of the military command.

“The Republic of Belarus has its own production of military communications equipment in all the spheres and bands,” said the Chief of the Signals Directorate of the General Staff Maj. Gen. Oleg Mishchenko. “The handed over samples are ultramodern, without exaggeration. The Belarusian defence industry now focuses on satellite systems based on the national satellite communications and broadcasting system. Digitalisation of the battalion control link, equipment force packaging of the formations and military units with the advanced models will make it possible to improve the automated control system of the Armed Forces in the future.”
