Military-Technical Cooperation News Belarus and UAE Strive for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation in All Areas
On 20 July 2020, the fifth meeting of the joint cooperation committee between the government of Belarus and the government of the United Arab Emirates was held through the videoconference. The meeting was co-chaired by the Minister of SAMI Dmitry Pantus and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Anvar Gargash. In total, about 25 representatives of Belarusian ministries, departments, enterprises and more than 10 representatives of the Emirates side took part in the meeting.
During the negotiations, the parties considered the implementation of the agreements reached during the fourth meeting of the joint committee. Particular attention was paid to issues related to COVID-19. A wide range of issues of Belarusian-Emirates cooperation in trade, economic, investment and banking spheres, as well as in the field of security, education, science and technology, culture, agriculture, health care, sports and tourism were substantively discussed. The ways of increasing cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and the UAE were outlined.
As a result of the meeting, a final protocol and a number of bilateral letters of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security, environmental protection, prevention and response to nuclear and radiation emergencies, combating human trafficking were signed.
