558 ARP Repairs Three Thousand Aircraft
In October 2019, 558 Aircraft Repair Plant JSC (558 ARP JSC) handed over an overhaul Su-27UBK to the customer. It was the 2000th combat aircraft (558 ARP JSC has been keeping count of overhauled aircraft since 1981, when it became a specialised company for the repair of Su-17/Su-22), which had been given a new lease of life by Baranovichi aviation specialists.
The plant has been the leader in the repair of Su aircraft for a long time. In the early 1990s, a repaired aircraft left the workshops every two days there. In the early 2000s, the personnel mastered the overhaul of Su-27. Since then more than forty Su-27(Su-30) family aircraft have been restored and modernised at the enterprise.
Baranovichi upgraded products are multi-purpose aircraft systems capable of destroying air and surface targets with the widest variety of air weapons. Updated avionics makes it possible to use RVV-AE air-to-air missiles and various air weapons, including corrected air-to-surface missiles. Among them is such as Kh-31A missile designed to destroy surface targets, Kh-31P antiradar missile, Kh-25ML and Kh-29L laser-guided missiles and Kh-29T TV-guided missile.
In addition, 558 ARP JSC also overhauls and modernises MiG-29, Su-25, Su-22 aircraft, Mi-8 (Mi-17, Mi-171), Mi-24 (Mi-35). Modern satellite navigation system, new navigation modes, breakthrough software for the navigation target acquisition system and other components are mounted to significantly increase the effectiveness of aircraft equipment to destroy surface, sea and air targets and to expand the capabilities for round-the-clock and all-weather operations. One of the priorities of the innovation of Baranovichi aircraft repairmen is aircraft and helicopters’ protection from attacks by high-precision radio-guided weapons, aircraft intercept missile systems and enemy surface-to-air missile systems.
Today, 558 ARP JSC is the only enterprise in Belarus and one of few companies in CIS, which offers a full range of services in repair of operational aircraft of the Belarusian Army and armed forces of the near and far abroad.
558 ARP JSC also carries out a full repair cycle for gliders and all their components, performs a set of improvements to aircraft equipment and additional preventive measures that increase its reliability. If it is necessary during the repair, the enterprise together with the developers extend the glider’s service life according to its technical condition.
The quality and reliability of the plant’s services are well known among our military-technical cooperation partners in more than thirty countries of Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa.
