Gomel Design Office Luch JSC (the successor of Gomel Design Office formed by Order No. 429 of 13 July 1972 by the USSR Minister of Radio Industry) was part of a specialised research and production complex of enterprises making radar systems to protect the USSR from a missile attack.
The enterprise is developing radar equipment for missile approach warning systems, space monitoring systems, and for missile defence systems in the USSR.
Today, Gomel Design Office Luch JSC is the leading enterprise in the development and production of Belarusian antenna-feeder devices (AFD), one of the most important components of any radar station.
Within the framework of a joint project with Radar JSC – Managing Company of Radar Systems Holding and other participants developing two-dimensional radar Vostok-D, Gomel Design Office Luch specialists designed and manufactured automatically collapsible and deployable solid-state active antenna system exceeding performance characteristics of the radar 1RL131 (Terek). In 2017, the passive antenna component of the S-range height-finder for the three-dimensional Vostok-3D radar was designed.
The performance characteristics of the height-finder antenna allow the Vostok-3D to detect and accurately determine the height and radial velocity of aerial vehicles at ranges up to 360 km.
Among the developments of Gomel Design Office Luch are the Podsolnukh-C antenna, receiving and transmitting short frequency signals with vertical polarisation in the ultra-wideband frequency range designed for detection and identification of ships and aircraft in a 200-mile coastal zone, as well as the Rosa-RB 1L81-1 АТА4.115.004 collapsible mobile mast with the height of 36 metres, electric and manual drives intended for lifting and continuous operation of of antenna equipment weighing up to 1050 kg.
The enterprise designs and produces a wide range of meter and decimeter wavelength transmitting antennas for broadcasting and television, combiners of signals from several transmitters, receiving and transmitting antennas for radio communication, antenna equivalents and ballast loads, feeder line elements, as well as high-tech medical equipment for cardiology and functional diagnostics.
